Maryam Mahjoob is a Masters of Applied Science Candidate studying the social determinants of quality of life in children with neurodevelopmental conditions. She is passionate about driving change and removing social barriers that prevent children and youth from reaching their full potential. She has been part of various initiatives which advocate for diversity and representation in STEM and she loves promoting science communication and health literacy. With this goal in mind, she works with various organizations such as the Canadian Center for Victims of Torture, where she coordinates events for newcomer and refugee youth. In her free time, she loves to read, listen to podcasts, and go for jogs!
